Can I do your classes even if I have never done Pilates before?

Yes, absolutely! Our classes are designed to welcome complete beginners, all fitness levels and all ages. Once you have signed up for your free trial, you can head to our programmes page where we have a section of different programmes designed for complete beginners and we’re always adding to it! In these programmes Lou slowly and clearly explains the basic Pilates moves, often with a student, and corrects their alignment and form to make sure the classes are easy to follow even for someone who has zero Pilates experience.

I’m pregnant. Is Pilates safe?

+
Absolutely. Pilates is safe to do throughout all three trimesters, when doing classes which have been specifically created for pregnancy. Pilates will help keep you strong and flexible throughout and also help prepare your body for birth. Louise did Pilates everyday throughout both her pregnancies and in doing so created a dedicated programme which is divided into classes for the second and third trimester. Then, after birth and once you have received the 6 weeks all clear we also have a postnatal programme, which will help you get back your strength.

Do you have any classes aimed at menopausal women?

+
We do! Once you access the site you will find a dedicated programme for menopausal women and we also have an osteoporosis set of classes designed to improve bone strength.

Do you have any classes for runners?

+
All our Pilates classes are perfect for runners as they improve core strength, mobility, muscle efficiency and posture. By adding Pilates to your running training routine, you’ll help prevent common running injuries, enhance your running efficiency, and improve your breathing and body awareness during runs.

Do you ever run retreats or private classes?

+
We do. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about our next retreat or email us to find out more about private classes.

What’s different about your Pilates?

+
The LIVE BRAVE method is different as our teachers have an extensive knowledge of the anatomy which they use to teach classes that are about precise alignment, form and posture and which inevitably create lasting results both mentally and physically. It’s been said that it feels like you have a private teacher in the room when you take a class with LIVE BRAVE. Clear, well-explained cues help ensure correct alignment and form and ultimately lead to better results – both in terms of toning and strength. LIVE BRAVE hasn’t been created for quick fixes or rapid results – it’s about creating a strong, toned body for life which is injury free. It’s about being consistent, even doing just ten minutes a day will help you reach your goals – whether they are aesthetic or physical.

I’ve signed up for the free trial - how much does it cost after?

+
This will depend on the subscription plan that you have chosen. We offer one month, 6 month and annual subscriptions. You can see all the information on our plans here.

How can I cancel my subscription?

+
After you sign in, click on the avatar on the top right of the page, then a box will pop up and you’ll need to click on the little burger icon and go to ‘Subscriptions’, from there you will be able to cancel your subscription.

I’m a Vitality member but I can’t see where I need to register.

+
For all Vitality members we have a dedicated registration page here, once registered you will need to sign in here.

Do I need equipment for the workouts?

+
We have a wide selection of both equipment and non equipment classes to choose from. All you need to do is add the ‘no equipment’ filter when selecting your class. Also, if you want to try some equipment classes but aren’t ready to invest, you can easily switch out for things you have around the house: instead of hand weights use tins of baked beans, instead of sliders use a flannel, instead of the small ball use a cushion.

Do you have classes for men?

+
All of our classes are designed to be enjoyed by both men and women! There is also a wide selection of classes where Lou is teaching and her husband Jos, these are especially useful if you’re looking to make sure you have the correct form.

Can I still do Pilates if I have bad knees?

+
Yes, Pilates is a great way to improve any knee pain as it strengthens all the supporting muscles of the knee joint. Try to avoid classes where there might be an increased amount of pressure on the join (i.e any positions on all fours) or roll up your mat for added cushion.

What are the differences between Yoga and Pilates?

+
In short, Yoga focuses on flexibility and Pilates on strength. They are both very complimentary and we even have a fusion series which blends the two so you can feel the benefits of both.

Are there vegetarian or vegan recipes?

+
Yes, once in the nutrition section of our website you can filter the recipes to show the vegetarian or vegan options.

I’ve been ill / injured and haven’t exercised in a while, where should I begin?

+
We would suggest starting from one of our beginner programmes, even if you’re an experienced Pilates student, and seeing how you feel after your first class returning to exercise. Take each class slowly and make sure you have received the all clear from your doctor to exercise.

If I miss the start of the monthly challenge or have to stop mid-way due to injury, can I join along later?

+
Yes, all of our challenges get saved onto our site even after they have finished so you can catch up at any moment!

How often and for how long should I do Pilates to see a difference?

+
We recommend doing Pilates 5 days a week – we understand that this can be tough with busy lifestyles which is why we create classes which are not too long and which can be done anywhere so they are easier to fit into your day. Consistency is key when it comes to exercise and it’s important to find something that you’ll want to do everyday. We know that our Pilates is different and with our support via the monthly challenges you’ll feel motivated to stay on track. Joseph Pilates once said: ‘In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a whole new body’. So, try LIVE BRAVE with our two week trial and see how you feel after just two weeks of regular practice.

Are there weekly or monthly programmes I can follow?

+
Yes, we release monthly challenges, each with their own focus, to help keep up your motivation. Weekly plans will be released on Monday morning, so you can follow at your own pace and all challenges get saved to the platform so you can catch up whenever you want.
